Answers to Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions | Weekend NP, California

Find answers to common questions about how Weekend NP works, what services are available in California, how pricing works, and what to expect from your visit with Jeremy Montemayor, NP.

Getting Started

Is Weekend NP accepting new patients in California?

Yes. Weekend NP is actively accepting new patients throughout California. New patients begin with a comprehensive 60-minute telehealth intake visit where Jeremy reviews your health history, evaluates current concerns, and develops an individualized care plan. You can book directly through the patient portal on the contact page.

What areas does Weekend NP serve?

Weekend NP serves patients throughout the Greater California Area via telehealth and hybrid care. Because most visits are conducted via secure video, patients can access care from anywhere in California — whether you're in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Sacramento, San Diego, or anywhere in between. In-person options may be available for specific clinical needs.

How do I book a visit?

All visits are booked through the patient portal, accessible from the Contact & Book page. The portal allows you to select your visit type, choose a time that works for you during Weekend NP's evening and weekend hours, and complete intake information ahead of your appointment.

What technology do I need for a telehealth visit?

You need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. The patient portal uses a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. No special software downloads are typically required — you'll receive a link to join your appointment via the portal.

Hours & Availability

What are Weekend NP's hours?

Weekend NP is available Monday through Friday from 5pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 9pm. These hours were intentionally chosen to serve patients in California during the times when most clinics and medical offices are closed — filling a real gap in healthcare access.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Same-day availability depends on the current schedule. Weekend NP's evening and weekend hours make same-day or next-available appointments significantly more accessible than traditional clinics. Sick call and quick visit slots are typically shorter, which helps keep same-day options open. Book early in the day for the best same-evening availability.

Are holiday hours different?

Weekend NP aims to maintain availability on most weekends and evenings throughout the year, including many holidays when other clinics may be closed. Holiday availability may vary — checking the patient portal for current scheduling is the most reliable way to see open appointment times.

Insurance & Pricing

Does Weekend NP accept insurance?

Weekend NP is currently completing the credentialing process with several major insurance providers, including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and others. While these approvals are being finalized, all visits are offered on a transparent cash-pay basis. We will update coverage options as insurance credentialing is completed.

How much does a visit cost?

Weekend NP offers four visit types with clear, upfront pricing: Quick Visit (15 min, $75), Acute Illness / Follow-Up (30 min, $100), New Patient Intake (60 min, $175), and Wellness & Longevity Consultation (30 min, $150). Payment is due at the time of service. See the full pricing page for details.

Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay?

Medical visits with a licensed healthcare provider are generally HSA and FSA eligible. Weekend NP recommends confirming with your HSA or FSA administrator that the visit type you're booking qualifies under your plan. A visit receipt can be provided for your records and reimbursement purposes.

Can I submit my visit to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement?

Patients with PPO plans may be able to submit visits for out-of-network reimbursement. Weekend NP can provide a receipt with the necessary billing information for this purpose. Contact your insurance provider before your visit to understand your specific out-of-network benefits and reimbursement process.

Services & Clinical Care

What conditions can Weekend NP treat?

Weekend NP treats a broad range of adult health needs including minor acute illness (respiratory infections, UTIs, sinusitis, ear concerns), primary care and chronic disease management, wellness and longevity optimization, weight management, and geriatric health concerns. If you have a question about whether your concern is appropriate, reach out — Jeremy will give you an honest answer.

Does Jeremy Montemayor prescribe medications?

Yes. As a board-certified Nurse Practitioner licensed in California, Jeremy has prescriptive authority and can prescribe medications as clinically appropriate. This includes antibiotics for acute infections, medications for chronic conditions, and other pharmacologic treatments within the scope of Weekend NP's services. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.

What is a wellness and longevity consultation?

A wellness consultation is a 30-minute visit focused on health optimization and long-term wellbeing. Jeremy reviews your health history, lifestyle factors, and goals to begin developing a personalized strategy. Patients pursuing longevity or optimization protocols typically require baseline lab testing and follow-up visits before beginning any new protocol-based care to ensure it is safe and appropriate.

Can Weekend NP provide care for older adults?

Yes. As an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Jeremy has specialized training in the care of older adults, including those with complex, multi-system conditions. Weekend availability is especially meaningful for aging patients and their families, as health needs don't pause for the weekend. Telehealth makes access easier for patients with mobility or transportation limitations.

Is Weekend NP a replacement for my primary care doctor?

Weekend NP can serve as your primary care provider if you choose to establish care here.
